For Women:

- Ovarian reserve assessment: This includes AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone) testing and an antral follicle count (AFC) via ultrasound to tailor ovarian stimulation protocols.

- Hysterosalpingography (HSG): This test evaluates the fallopian tubes for blockages, hydrosalpinx (fluid-filled tubes), or other abnormalities that might require surgical correction before IVF. Hydrosalpinx, in particular, can negatively affect embryo implantation and development.

- Uterine cavity evaluation: This is performed using hysterosonography (ultrasound with saline infusion) or hysteroscopy (a camera inserted into the uterus) to check for polyps, fibroids, or adhesions that could impact implantation.

 For Men:

- Semen analysis: This determines sperm count, motility, and morphology, helping decide whether to use conventional IVF or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection).

 Additional Testing:

- Some specialists perform a mock embryo transfer, using an empty catheter to simulate the actual embryo transfer procedure. This helps assess uterine access and positioning, ensuring the smoothest possible transfer when the time comes.
